Things I Wish My Mother Taught Me

I believe that mothers are not valued enough and if anyone is to be blamed for this shortcoming, it is the mothers themselves, since it is they who instill the same low value in their daughters. This has to change.
My own mother was so insecure that she didn't dare do anything without my father's approval, which rarely if ever came. And so, she didn't teach me to stand up for myself, look after myself, or how to reach for my dreams. The only things she taught me was how to knit and clean and of course passed her low self-esteem to me.
And so, I decided to write down as many of the lessons that I wish my mother had taught me and didn't or couldn't, that I had to learn the hard way.
